Use of Face Masks - March 21, 2022
Effective today, March 21, 2022, the City of Torrance Use of Face Masks Administrative Order will change to: Masks are strongly recommended regardless of vaccination status. This means self-attestation forms are no longer required to unmask. State of California Executive Order N-5-22 suspends section 3205(c)(6)(A) of the Cal/OSHA Emergency Temporary Standards (ETS), which required that unvaccinated workers wear face coverings in all indoor workplaces and all vehicles. This requirement will no longer be enforced. However, other face covering requirements within the ETS remain in place.

Updated Administrative Order lifting Suspension of Social Gatherings and Recognition Events - February 10, 2022
On December 23, 2021, an Administrate Order was issued suspending in person social gatherings and recognition events including but not limited to, in person birthday, holiday, retirement and social luncheons. This Administrative Order amends the previous order by allowing outdoor social gatherings and recognition events. All other COVID workplace health and safety rules remain in effect and must be enforced and followed by all employees.

Update on LA County Quarantine Order and Isolation Order - January 3, 2022
As we have all noted in the first three days of 2022, COVID19 transmission is surging in the County, State, and Nation. While we enjoyed several months of declining or stabilizing transmission rates, it’s time for all of us to take extra precautions to ensure the ongoing safety of the workplace and the Torrance community.

WORKPLACE FACE COVERINGS MANDATE IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY 12/27/21
Employees must wear face coverings while indoors regardless of vaccination status as recommended by LA County Mask Mandate.
Certain employees may be exempt from wearing a mask when performing specific tasks which cannot feasibly be performed while wearing a mask.
Employees who cannot feasibly wear a mask while performing their work must be tested for COVID-19 at least twice per week, unless the employee is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide proof of recovery from lab-confirmed COVID-19 within the past 90 days against COVID-19.

City of Torrance Administrative Order to All Employees regarding revised Face Covering
requirements and Vaccination Self Attestation
On June 17, 2021, Governor Gavin Newsom signed an executive order enabling the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (Cal/-OSHA) Board adopted revised COVID-19 Prevention Emergency Temporary Standards (ETS) to take effect immediately. In alignment with the revised ETS, this Administrative Order provides that City of Torrance employees can now remove their face covering under certain conditions as described in this order. This Administrative Order takes effect June 21, 2021 and remains in effect until further notice.

California Governor Newsom signed into state law Senate Bill 95 (COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave),
effective March 29, 2021. The law provides covered employees up to 80 hours of COVID-19 related sick leave
January 1, 2021 – September 30, 2021. All City of Torrance employees are covered under this law, and the
amount of supplemental paid sick leave available depends on your status as a full-time or part-time / recurrent
employee. This Administrative Policy is effective April 13, 2021, and paid leave benefits provided are retroactive to
January 1, 2021.

Effective immediately, Los Angeles County has repealed the Mandatory Directive on Travel that went into effect on December 30, 2020.
