Torrance Transit Is Temporarily Suspending Fare Collection For Riders. Torrance Transit Requests All Riders To Board Using The Rear Doors.

3/23/2020

To help prevent or slow the spread of COVID-19 and to protect bus operators and passengers, Torrance Transit will implement a rear-door boarding policy. This will help to minimize the interaction between the driver and the passengers. We are asking all customers to board and exit using only the rear door of the bus effective Tuesday, March 24, 2020 until further notice. Only passengers boarding with wheelchairs or who will need to use the ramp will be able to use the front door. In addition, all rides will be free during this time.
We are asking all passengers to follow the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health guidelines and practice “social distancing”. Since there are fewer passengers on the bus, there should be no problem finding a seat to maintain adequate distancing. We will also remind our employees and customers to take appropriate preventative measures to minimize the potential risk of infection via carcards and announcements.
All passengers using the bike rack will have to notify the driver before exiting the bus to allow enough time to retrieve their bike from the front of the bus.
