Torrance Care Facility Coordination during COVID-19

4/25/2020

TORRANCE, Calif., April 25, 2020- The City of Torrance has taken great care to assure our most vulnerable populations have received essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The elderly care facilities in the city have been at the top of the list.  Patients and caregivers in these facilities are vulnerable to the COVID-19 virus.

The Torrance Fire Department partnered with all of the care facilities in Torrance since the first reported case of COVID-19 in LA County.  Daily calls were conducted with each business to assure staff and patients were following LA County Public Health and CDC guidelines.  The care facilities were also provided with contact information to assure that all caregivers were wearing the proper personal protective equipment.

As the COVID-19 response has grown within the LA County area, Torrance has followed the same trend.  The City of Torrance continues to partner with medical directors, hospitals, LA County Department of Public Health and the care facilities to assure patients are provided with the best care.  Our team remains focused on slowing the spread of COVID-19 and will continue to work with all agencies to assure the highest levels of safety for everyone.  For additional questions about care facilities affected by COVID-19, please refer to the LA County Department of Public Health website www.PublicHealth.LACounty.Gov/Media/Coronavirus/Locations.htm
