Torrance Urges Community to Takeout on Tuesdays and Shop Local to Boost Business

12/1/2020

TORRANCE, Calif., December 1, 2020 –
In an effort to boost business for the restaurant industry, the city of Torrance has launched "Takeout Tuesdays" beginning today, December 1.

With COVID-19 case rates on the rise, Torrance Mayor Patrick J. Furey said it's important to help local restaurants survive through the recent LA County Public Health Orders.

“We know that with the surge of COVID cases, limiting our outings is the safest approach we can take to slowing the spread. We also know our restaurants are struggling and they need our help.”

While turning to online retailers may be tempting for many this holiday season, the City encourages the community to support local businesses when doing their holiday shopping. “Not only does this help businesses who have been hit hard by the pandemic this year, it also means we’re keeping money local to support our own community,” said Furey. Many local businesses have created new ways to engage with their customers, from direct online ordering to curbside delivery, in order to provide safe and convenient options.
